Speeder in The Villages chased down and arrested on DUI charge

A speeding driver zooming along at 92 miles per hour in The Villages was chased down and arrested on a drunk driving charge.

Braeden Michael Shuler, 22, of Ocala, was arrested in the wee hours Thursday following the high-speed pursuit, which ended at the 7-Eleven at the Beaumont development on County Road 466A in Wildwood.

According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was conducting traffic enforcement at about 2:11 a.m. at Morse Boulevard and County Road 466A near the Colony Cottage Recreation Center when he spotted Shuler’s silver Toyota passenger car approaching at a high rate of speed. The vehicle, which had no license plate, was traveling at 92 mph in a 45 mph zone.

The deputy initiated a pursuit, pacing the Toyota as it reached speeds of 105 mph before Shuler finally pulled over into the gas station…
