By Sara Beth Williams– — An armed male was detained Thursday afternoon after police pursued him down the middle of Auburn Boulevard near Greenback Lane following his involvement in a reported dispute at a nearby retail center.
Westbound lanes on Auburn Boulevard were temporarily closed just before 2:30 p.m. on Thursday as police pursued a known transient who was holding a knife or other sharp object close to his neck while walking in the middle of the four-lane roadway.
Police cruisers followed the man through the middle of the street, warning multiple times that force would be used against him if he continued to wield the weapon or use the weapon against himself…
