ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A federal jury has awarded $30 million to the family of a Cherry Valley woman who was killed when a FedEx semi-truck crashed into her pickup truck on Interstate 90 in 2020.
According to a judgment entered August 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the jury found in favor of the victim’s mother, Niki White.
Tanicialle Brown, 30, of Cherry Valley, was killed January 11, 2020, when her pickup truck was struck from behind by a FedEx tractor-trailer on eastbound Interstate 90 near Loves Park. At the time, Illinois State Police said Brown’s truck had run out of fuel and was stopped on the interstate. A four-year-old passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
