HAMBURG, N.Y. — A Buffalo woman who pleaded guilty in March to conspiring to steal mail from mailboxes in Hamburg, was sentenced on Thursday. Alexandria Duncan, 23, will serve two years probation. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
Between October 9 and October 14, 2024, Duncan conspired with co-defendant Timothee Tidwell to steal mail from receptacles in Hamburg and take the items from inside the letters and envelopes that were stolen.
Prosecutors said during the early morning hours of October 14, 2024, Duncan drove to Camp Road in Hamburg with Tidwell. That’s where Tidwell got out of the vehicle and approached a row of mailboxes outside the post office. Using a postal arrow key he did not legally possess, Tidwell opened various mailboxes, stealing multiple mail items. Law enforcement later recovered opened and unopened mail addressed to other people from Duncan’s vehicle. The pile included checks from various individuals and businesses, totaling $369,104.92…
