Child present for 2 gunshot deaths after domestic disturbance, deputies say

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Deputies responded to a report of a shooting in Woodville on Thursday afternoon, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a call around 3:10 p.m. regarding a domestic violence incident in the 16500 block of Crystal Street in Woodville. Officers were informed that someone had been shot, according to officials.

Officers arrived on scene, entered a home, and found a 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies say the woman was rushed to Sierra View District Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

The man died at the scene and was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to officials. The man was found with a gun, according to officers. A child was also found unharmed at the home.

Investigators are still looking into this, but it does appear that this was a murder suicide that stemmed from a domestic violence incident, according to deputies…
