Suspect charged with shooting, killing Greensboro police officer in Food Lion appointed capital defender

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The man accused of shooting and killing Greensboro Officer Michael Horan just before Christmas 2024 appeared in court on Friday.

Tarell Isaac McMillian was charged with first-degree murder in December 2024 after allegedly shooting Horan.

At the time of the shooting, Horan was in uniform responding to a report of a man with a gun inside the Food Lion off of Lawndale Drive in Greensboro.
