(WGHP) — A stalled front to our south sparks increasing storm chances through this afternoon and evening in the Piedmont Triad. Isolated storms become scattered storms as we approach dinnertime with some severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and flash flooding.
The highest chance for storms looks to be between 5 PM and 8 PM with a few lingering showers possible through 10 PM.
Frequent lightning, heavy downpours, isolated hail and strong winds are all possible with storms. If you have plans this evening, make sure you’re paying attention to the radar.
