LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – The the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Friday reported two new worker deaths, bringing the state’s workplace death toll to 32 for 2026.
The newest case took place in the Upper Peninsula’s Gwinn on Thursday, Aug 20, when a 50-year-old owner was cutting down a tree at a private residence when the tree fell onto a power line.
MIOSHA says another worker used a skid steer to lift the victim so the victim could attempt to push the tree of the power line. The victim was electrocuted and died at the scene, according to MIOSHA…
