MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld a murder and robbery conviction of a Mobile man.
Teen faces murder charge after fatal shooting in Escambia County, Florida
According to a news release from Attorney General Steve Marshall, the court affirmed 26-year-old Patrick Vashun Lewis’ February 2025 conviction.
Officials said on Sept. 18, 2021, Lewis and another person robbed and killed Bryan Maynard Jr. in the Shoppes at Bel Air parking lot.
Maynard had driven to Mobile from North Carolina to sell a watch to a man he met on social media and, when returning to his vehicle, Lewis and the man Maynard met online robbed Maynard at gunpoint.
Maynard was killed during a struggle for the gun.
