Development firm behind proposed Mason data center identified

MASON — The company that wants to develop a hyperscale data center on more than 400 acres near Mason has been identified as Ohio-based Comino Development, records show.

Correspondence between officials in the Ingham County Drain Commissioner’s office, Mason City Manager Deb Stuart and a Comino Development official were initially obtained from Ingham County by a local resident and subsequently by the State Journal.

The documents identify Comino Development, an acronym for Community Innovation Development Partners, but not the eventual end user of the proposed project. Comino Development is based in New Albany, Ohio, a city that has more than 15 companies including Google, Meta and Microsoft running more than 40 facilities for the data center industry…
