Daphne secures $5 million grant for new fishing pier at Bayfront Park

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Daphne’s bayfront is getting another big boost; the city just landed a $5 million grant to build a new fishing pier.

The Jubilee City’s bayfront is already undergoing a major transformation, with a $15 million waterfront amphitheater project already underway.

Now the city has another major project down at Bayfront Park in the works, landing a $5 million GoMESA grant from the state.

“A brand new pier, something that Daphne has desperately needed for a long time,” Daphne’s Executive Director of City Development Troy Strunk said.
