Charlotte animal shelter faces emergency ahead of ‘Clear the Shelters’ adoption event

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control shelter is facing a capacity crisis with only one empty kennel left at the shelter, a press release said Friday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control said it is hoping Saturday’s “Clear the Shelters” event will create lifesaving space by waiving adoption fees that might otherwise prevent families from finding a furry friend.
