After a gray and humid start to the weekend, Massachusetts residents can expect one more day of unsettled weather before brighter, more comfortable conditions return for much of next week.
Clouds, patchy drizzle and areas of fog will linger into Saturday night, especially along the coast and across higher elevations in Central Massachusetts. Most communities will stay dry overnight, with temperatures only falling into the low to mid-60s.
The main weather concern arrives Sunday afternoon and evening, when isolated strong thunderstorms could develop across Western Massachusetts, particularly west of the Connecticut River Valley. Springfield and surrounding areas face the highest risk for stronger storms, which could produce damaging wind gusts and brief periods of heavy rain.
