ARL of Iowa updates on emaciated puppy Blossom’s recovery

DES MOINES, Iowa — After being found in critical condition, the ARL of Iowa says Blossom the puppy has made strides in physical therapy and gained weight.

The Animal Rescue League of Iowa announced August 11 that an emaciated dog had been brough to them for treatment after two people on a walk found the dog in an overgrown Polk County ditch.

The puppy, named Blossom, is estimated to be a five-month-old large-breed dog but was roughly 9.7 lbs at the time she was brought in. The ARL of Iowa said she was in critical condition, with a dangerously low body temp along with being dehydrated and emaciated.

A few days later the ARL of Iowa announced that The Conley Group was offering a $1,000 reward through the ARL for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of the person(s) responsible for Blossom’s condition…
