Inner Southeast Portland is served from two different Portland Police Bureau precincts; the area west of S.E. Chavez Blvd. (formerly 39th Avenue) is covered by Central Precinct, which is based in downtown Portland. The area east of Chavez Blvd. is served by East Precinct.
The Portland Police Bureau’s 2025 Annual Report for East Precinct, presented online this summer, delivered a cautiously upbeat picture of crime trends for the large patrol district that includes much of Inner Southeast Portland.
