Positional Preview: Tennessee Football’s Quarterback Room

Welcome to a positional preview series, in which we break down the complete room of each position ahead of the 2026 season. We begin this series with the quarterbacks, who are entering the series as one of the most unproven groups when it comes to the 2026 season.

Meet the Group

Let’s begin by meeting the squad.

True freshman gunslinger and former No. 1 high school player in the class of 2026, Faizon Brandon, is by far one of the players on this roster with the most upside. He has been great at the high school level, but as he competes for playing time, it remains unknown what he will do at the college level. Many have high hopes due to his constant growth and his ability to adapt. He is extremely coachable, which is something that I had the chance to see firsthand.

Another quarterback on this roster is George MacIntyre. He is a returning quarterback with a great chance to succeed, as he is known for his lengthy frame and his bazooka of an arm. In high school, he was previously a five-star, before he was moved down to the four-star ranks. He made some amazing plays at Brentwood Academy and has been with the Vols for what is set to be his second season. In his first season, he finished with only 69 yards, but he was also the No. 3 quarterback on the roster, following behind Joey Aguilar and Jake Merklinger…
