HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — As students in Horry County head back to school, some working parents may be scrambling to figure out what to do with their children after the final bell.
Children who once might have been considered “latchkey kids” — arriving home to an unsupervised house after school — now have more after-school options across the area. Programs are available through the YMCA, county and city facilities, and at some Horry County schools.
