A national fragrance chain known for discount designer perfumes and colognes is set to open its doors at Arden Fair Mall on Friday, August 28. Perfumania will occupy space on the mall’s second floor, bringing brands like Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera to the Arden Arcade shopping center at prices below typical department-store markups.
The new location adds to a lineup that already includes fragrance counters inside the mall’s department stores, plus existing beauty tenants Sephora, Bath & Body Works and Royale Perfumes, according to The Sacramento Bee. Nathan Spradlin, Arden Fair’s marketing director, told the outlet that fragrance stores have seen a broad trend among Sacramento shoppers, and that Perfumania was a strong fit for the mall because it adds depth to a broadly appealing category. Spradlin also said the chain will sell a wide variety of fragrances at a range of price points, according to the same report.
Perfumania already operates a location at the Folsom Premium Outlets on Folsom Boulevard, and the Sacramento region isn’t an isolated case: the company and its sister chain, The Fragrance Outlet, both owned by Obsession Holdings LLC, announced in June a nationwide expansion plan to add 43 new stores across U.S. shopping centers through 2027, building on 31 locations opened in 2025. That expansion was previously noted by Hoodline as part of a broader wave of mall openings tied to the chain’s growth strategy. A Mall Rebuilding Its Tenant Mix
The Sacramento Bee reports that Perfumania’s arrival is part of a wider expansion at Arden Fair, which has more than 150 stores and recently welcomed Taco Bell Cantina and Fabletics. Mall management told the paper it expects True Religion, Levi’s and Dick’s House of Sport to open in the coming months, part of what Spradlin described as a focus on adding retailers that give guests more reasons to shop and more options. The mall is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Perfumania’s own hours were still to be determined as of the Bee’s report…
