Money from Micron: Sign up now for free funds for kids

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Micron, the company building a semiconductor plant project near Syracuse, is pledging millions of dollars toward Jefferson and Lewis County children through a savings account program.

All people have to do is sign up.

“What I think people don’t understand is that this is actually one of the largest economic development projects on Earth,” said Ryan Piche, Jefferson County administrator.

The plant is under construction in the town of Clay, 61 miles from Watertown, with fewer miles for residents in southern Jefferson County…
