Firefighter sent to hospital after Schenectady treatment plant fire

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A fire broke out at a water treatment plant in Schenectady on Monday evening. Crews responded to the facility on Anthony Street.

One firefighter was sent to the hospital for a minor fall, according to the City of Schenectady Fire Department. No other injuries were reported.

Fire Chief George Burns said the fire started in a building occupied by a contractor where compost from the treatment plant is processed. The fire began near some equipment and is currently under investigation.
