Pellissippi Place’s second commercial tenant is gearing up to raise a two-story giant of a building at the front of the sleepy industrial park.
Site plans approved by the Alcoa Regional Planning Commission Thursday indicate that the new Siemens Medical Solutions R&D facility — codenamed “Project Hudson” — going in between Jackson Hills Drive and Clayton Drive will encompass more than 106,000 square feet.
That footprint is roughly 25 percent larger than what officials originally expected back in April when the Blount County Industrial Development Board announced the new development.
