An Arizona murder suspect has been arrested by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department just days after speculation spread online that the man could be the infamous ‘Porch Guy’ seen on Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera.
As previously reported, the PCSD issued an arrest warrant on Friday (August 21) for Alex James Barnett, a 33-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of Tucson Police Cadet Carlos Ramirez. After police shared a public assistance notice, including a photo of Barnett, social media users compared the suspect to the Porch Guy.
Barnett has now been taken into custody after a three-hour standoff at an apartment complex on the east side of Tucson. According to the Arizona Daily Star, Barnett peacefully surrendered after the Pima Regional SWAT team surrounded the building on Monday (August 24) evening…
