Nashville man charged with ‘butcher knife’ assault on WeGo bus

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is accused of pulling a knife on security at a WeGo bus stop in downtown Nashville on Tuesday.

Around 1 p.m., security guards responded to reports of a disorderly passenger later identified by authorities as Mario Thompson, 41.

Arrest documents show that when guards boarded the bus at Representative John Lewis Way and Demonbreun Street, Thompson pulled out a six-inch butcher knife and advanced toward them.

Officers later took Thompson into custody at a WeGo Center, where he was reportedly looking for lost property…
