Two $700 million data centers are about to take shape near Austin

A massive $1.4 billion data center campus is inching along in Central Texas this year. Plans for two $700 million data centers owned by a global tech giant are set to take shape in a growing business hub outside of Austin.

EdgeConnex is building a $1.4 billion data center campus in Cedar Creek within Bastrop County, about 26 miles southeast of Austin. The company recently submitted two new Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filings for new buildings on the property, slated to break ground early next month.

In late May, EdgeConnex submitted construction plans for the site on a nearly 180-acre property located at 6682 FM 535 in Cedar Creek. The company planned two new 730,000-square-foot data centers, which were poised to begin construction in June…
