DES MOINES, Iowa — The World Food & Music Festival is taking place in Downtown Des Moines this weekend, but some roads close as early as Tuesday.
The City of Des Moines says the early closures give vendors and event organizers time to set up and prepare for the events this weekend. City officials released a schedule for when the streets surrounding Pappajohn Sculpture Park and Des Moines Central Public Library will begin closing.
Starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25:
• 12th St from Grand Ave to Locust St, and Locust St to Walnut St
Starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26:
• Locust St from 13th St to 10th St
Starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27:
• 13th St from Locust St to Grand Ave
• Grand Ave from 10th St to 14th St
All event street closures will end at 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31.
