MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Those for and against redistricting in Mississippi squared off at a public hearing in DeSoto County Thursday night.
The hearing is the second of eight across the state scheduled by a Mississippi Joint Committee.
“I’m asking this committee to do the right thing, the logical thing, I’m asking to redraw MS districts on traditional, race-neutral criteria,” said one speaker.” Redistricting is not just about diluting the Black vote in Miss. It’s about bending the knee to the president.”
