StormTeam 3: Soaking showers & storms continues this afternoon

SAVANNAH, Ga (WSAV) – StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here! Let’s have a lovely Thursday!

Another round of soaking rain and strong storms arrives this afternoon and evening. This will once again help our high temperatures remain around average in the low 90s. As a cold front off to our west begins to stall, this will begin to slow down storm motion. This will lead to a higher risk of excessive rainfall with localized flooding and ponding. This threat continues to increase the next two days.

More scattered storms will be likely through the second half of our Friday and into Saturday. Highs will be in the low 90s. Rain totals will be around 2″ by the time the weekend is over. Severe storms are possible each day with our main impact of damaging winds.

By late in the weekend, the cold front begins to fall apart. This decreases the chance of rain Sunday. Highs remain in the low 90s…
