A front at the surface and a trough of low pressure aloft will keep things on the unsettled side heading into Friday and the weekend, with the potential for heavy rain especially Friday and Saturday.
Friday will start in the mid-70s with some coastal showers and thunderstorms likely along the land breeze. As some daytime heating kicks in, we’ll see showers and thunderstorms begin to develop on land once more, with heavy downpours possible as there will be a plume of deep moisture across the area. We’ll need to keep an eye out for possible training of thunderstorms across the same locations, which would enhance the threat for localized flooding where they set up. Keep an ear out for possible Flood Advisories or even Flash Flood Warnings from the National Weather Service. Severe weather is less likely, though a stray damaging wind gust or two can never be totally ruled out due to wet microbursts. Highs should peak around 90° before storms fill in, though some spots may not reach that.
Thunderstorm chances continue to remain elevated for Saturday, though it won’t rain all the time at any one location. Similar to Friday, there is a risk for excessive rainfall that could lead to localized flooding issues. Temperatures will run generally around normal, with low 70s to start the day and upper 80s in the afternoon before thunderstorms fire.
