City of Mobile opens Senior Center in Hillsdale community

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Senior citizens in one Mobile community now have a space to call their own.

Emergency alert system in Baldwin County similar to one now available statewide

City leaders and seniors came together Thursday morning for the opening of the Hillsdale Senior Center, named in honor of the late John E. King, a longtime Deacon and community leader in Mobile.

Many members of King’s family were there for the ceremony and believe he would have been proud.

“My dad did so much work out here in the neighborhood and in the community out here,” Michael King said about his father. “That was his calling. It was his calling to help people.”
