(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This year marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Community members are invited to join a commemoration ceremony at the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Memorial Park on Friday, Sep. 11, at 3 p.m.
The ceremony will honor the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost on 9/11, the first responders who answered the call, and those whose sacrifices continued long after. There will be remarks made by Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade, Colorado Springs Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Jayme McConnellogue, and Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez.
