LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Two Las Vegas children, Kay and Leo, will have their pictures featured on screens in Times Square on Sept. 12. They were chosen out of thousands of submissions for the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual Buddy Walk.
A five-year-old’s big moment
Kay is five years old. She loves to dance, play and cook. She also loves her service dog, Maeve. On Sept. 12, a photo of Kay and Maeve will be displayed on screens in New York City.
“Every year, they take several thousand submissions of pictures of individuals with Down syndrome and only 500 get chosen,” Kay’s mother, Jessica Drake, said.
