North Carolina teen charged for role in deadly San Diego mosque shooting

Law enforcement officials in North Carolina on Monday announced a 17-year-old Winston-Salem girl was arrested and faces charges for her role in the deadly shooting at the San Diego Islamic Center earlier this year.

Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill said the Winston-Salem teen was arrested last week and indicted by a grand jury Monday on three counts of murder and one count of conspiracy in connection with the May 18, 2026, attack on the Clairemont mosque.

According to O’Neill, the teen was one of three people who were watching the livestream as the two suspects carried out the shooting. O’Neill said the teen recorded the livestream and published the shooters’ manifesto…
