A jury of seven women and five men, plus four alternates, was seated Monday for the attempted-murder trial of a lawyer accused of trying to shoot his estranged wife in a Warehouse District restaurant last year.
Judge Gary Cook, prosecutors, and lawyers for defendant Matthew Exton spent most of the day in Lucas County Common Pleas Court asking potential jurors about their experiences with the legal system, their opinions about lawyers and guns, and any domestic violence they or people they know might have encountered.
Judge Cook said he is hopeful the trial will be completed by Friday but wanted extra alternate jurors just in case it runs past the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Several of the chosen jurors said they have commitments starting later next week…
