Former Amarillo police officer charged after allegedly misusing Flock cameras 76 times

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Former Amarillo police Officer Christian Eder has been charged with 78 counts of tampering with a government record after an internal investigation found he allegedly used law enforcement databases to search for a victim’s personal information for non-law-enforcement purposes.

Eder’s employment with the Amarillo Police Department was terminated July 17 following the department’s administrative investigation.

According to APD, the criminal complaint alleges Eder searched the Flock Safety camera system 76 times for the victim’s license plate between February and June 2026. An audit also found Eder searched the victim’s name twice using TLOxp, an investigative database that provides information including addresses, phone numbers, vehicles and businesses…
