Suspect arrested weeks after victim found shot and ‘pistol whipped’ in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Portland police arrested a shooting suspect Friday after police found a person was “pistol whipped” and shot in the Montavilla neighborhood in early August.

Devin M. Stevens, 33, of St. Helens, is facing three counts each of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon as well as one count of first-degree assault.

Steven’s arrest comes weeks after a shooting in the area of 1400 NE 81st Ave. on Aug 5. Officers reported finding a victim with non-life-threatening injuries and opened an investigation.
