New York law expands cosmetology training to include all hair types and textures

A New York state law is changing what aspiring cosmetologists must learn in the classroom.

Beginning Tuesday, cosmetology students are required to receive training on working with a wider range of hair types and textures as part of the state’s 1,000-hour cosmetology curriculum.
