STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is continuing its investigation into two incidents where Asian teens were reportedly struck with BB gun pellets in the spring on the South Shore of Staten Island.
In separate incidents in the 123rd Precinct, two Asian teens were shot within minutes of each other while heading home from school on April 27, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
The first incident began when an 18-year-old man was walking northbound on Huguenot Avenue approaching Drumgoole Road West at about 2:25 p.m. A white male driving a gray SUV northbound on Huguenot turned left onto Drumgoole.
