Extreme heat continues as storm chances return in Charlotte: Weekend forecast

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte came within one degree of a record high temperature on Thursday, and that early September heat wave will continue into Labor Day weekend.

First Alert: Extreme heat

High temperatures Friday will once again hit the mid to upper 90s. Charlotte’s forecast high of 97 degrees will fall short of the daily record of 100 degrees, set in 1925.

Feels-like temperatures will push into the range of 100-105 degrees, hot enough to prompt a heat advisory from Charlotte to the south and east.

While a stray shower or storm is possible for some brief relief, most of us will end up staying dry once again Friday…
