DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) — The Dunedin City Commissioners voted 5-0 during a meeting Thursday to prohibit any personal motorized watercraft from launching on the southern portion of the Dunedin Causeway, effective immediately.
“The rights of the collective have to supersede the rights of the individual. It’s just gonna have to be that way for a number of reasons,” said Commissioner Tom Dugard.
The Causeway launch area has been closed since 2024, due to repairs caused by damage from Hurricanes Milton and Helene.
