COLUMBIA, S.C. — One year after South Carolina’s hands-free law took effect, new enforcement data is providing a first look at how often drivers are being ticketed for violations. Citations have been issued for the past six months.
South Carolina’s hands-free driving law went into effect a year ago. Citations were issued beginning in February.
“It’s a way to protect families; distracted driving is an epidemic,” Stephen Biddix said.
