WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A Cumberland woman is facing a felony child abuse charge after an alleged incident involving a young child at a Woonsocket motel on Monday.
Police said an individual arrived at the station around 7:30 p.m. to report an incident at the Woonsocket Motor Inn on Clinton Street. According to the arrest report, the person brought a juvenile with an apparent facial injury who had allegedly been abused.
About an hour earlier, the motel manager was notified of an argument in a second-floor room, the report states. A woman — later identified as 23-year-old Elizabeth Jarrie — and a young child known to her were reportedly located crying in a stairwell and brought to the manager’s office.
