Man convicted of attempted murder after trying to shoot, kill ex-wife in Toledo restaurant

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – An attorney accused of trying to shoot and kill his ex-wife inside a Toledo restaurant full of patrons has been convicted, according to Lucas County Prosecuting Attorney Julia R. Bates.

A Lucas County jury found Matthew Exton, 43, guilty of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and multiple firearm specifications on Sept. 5, 2026.
