The Rev. Paul Lawler, a former Birmingham pastor, was elected as a bishop in the Global Methodist Church this week during its General Conference that concluded today in South Africa.
Lawler, who grew up in Birmingham and Guntersville, was pastor of Christ Methodist Church in Birmingham from 2007-2022 and has served as senior pastor of Christ Methodist Church in Memphis since 2022.
