Good morning!
Cloud coverage moved into the Albuquerque Metro, which has kept temperatures warm in Albuquerque. So far, this morning, temperatures have only dropped to 73 degrees at the Sunport! The clouds have kept us more than 10 degrees warmer than normal. If we don’t stay above 69 degrees, we will set a new record warm low in the Duke City! Sunday’s forecast will feature highs reaching the 80s and 90s throughout southwest Colorado and New Mexico. Highs over the next few days are expected to be roughly 5-10 degrees above normal for the start of September.
Monsoon moisture remains over the state to start the new week. This will contribute to shower and storm chances today for the majority of the week. Sunday’s forecast will have isolated showers and storms for areas of southern New Mexico along with showers this evening through western counties. Some of those showers may linger into Monday morning before isolated to scattered storms redevelop on Labor Day. Showers and storms this week have the potential to drop locally heavy rainfall. Right now, Tuesday appears to have a decrease in coverage due to thinner moisture or even drier conditions moving into southeast New Mexico…
