CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A historic Uptown Charlotte building is being remembered after its demolition this past week to make way for a three-story, 29,000-square-foot data center.
The Court Arcade was designed and built in the 1920s by William H. Peeps, one of Charlotte’s first architects who also designed the Latta Arcade near Romare Bearden Park.
“Actually they were one of the first mixed-use buildings here in Charlotte,” Kate Sheldon of AIA Charlotte said. “The bottom was store front and the top was office space.”…
