BRANDON, S.D. (KELO) — Brandon Valley’s gridiron win wasn’t the only exciting thing to come out of the Saturday night lights.
Governor Larry Rhoden announced at halftime that the Lynx marching band is set to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. It was a surprise to the students as the school and marching band staff worked in secret to break the news that the band was selected to perform out of over 100 applicants.
“We’ve been holding this as a secret for over two months now so to be able to tell the kids is a big relief off my shoulders,” band director Tyler Nettestad said. “Seeing their faces light up when we announced it was incredible.”…
