KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Knoxville man is facing a slew of charges after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase late Sunday night.
According to warrants obtained by WVLT News, authorities saw a car being driven by 67-year-old Jimmy Stout on I-40 East dragging its muffler at around 11:45 p.m. When they tried to pull him over, he did not pull over and instead got off the interstate onto Kingston Pike.
While driving westbound on Kingston Pike, police said Stout reached speeds up to 108 mph in the area of Lovell Road before crashing into a ditch in the area of Everett Road.
There, Stout tried to get out, but his car was stuck. Deputies said he did not listen to verbal commands to get out of the car and be handcuffed, prompting him to be tased…
