A 39-year-old woman is being held on $500,000 bail after allegedly firing more than 30 rounds from a rifle during a standoff last week, wounding a responding police officer and striking a patrol vehicle and nearby homes, police said Tuesday.
Jasmine Robinson of Richmond faces suspicion of attempted murder, assault with an assault weapon and kidnapping, according to the Richmond Police Department.
The shooting occurred around 6:41 p.m. on Sept. 3 when officers accompanied Contra Costa County’s Behavioral Health Crisis Response Team, known as A3, on a mental health check in the 2200 block of Key Boulevard in Richmond.
Officer Church, a 25-year department veteran, was struck by gunfire shortly after arriving at the scene. He was treated at a local trauma center and released Sept. 4 to recover at home.
