One person was hospitalized and four others were injured when scaffolding fell and trapped them during setup for an event at the Skywalker Ranch on Labor Day, authorities confirmed with SFGATE.
Emergency dispatch for Marin County Fire received reports of the accident at around 11:20 a.m. on Monday, according to spokesperson Mari Ochoa. The famously secluded and sprawling 4,700-acre ranch owned by legendary “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” filmmaker George Lucas is at 3838 Lucas Valley Road, about 50 miles north of San Francisco, and primarily serves as a postproduction facility and recording studio.
“First responders arrived and confirmed that scaffolding had fallen, trapping one person and injuring four others,” Ochoa told SFGATE in an email. “Crews worked to safely extricate the trapped individual while the remaining patients were evaluated on scene.”…
