LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Pulaski County residents will have two chances in early October to connect with the legal system in ways organizers say can be life-changing: the third annual Get Right with the Court event and the second annual Warren-Nance Scholarship Celebration.
Get Right with the Court is designed as a one-day, “one-stop shop” for people to address certain court-related issues. Judge Latonya Honorable said the event can include potential waiving of fines, fees and court costs, along with help reinstating child support payments and driver’s licenses. It also includes voter registration and reentry resources.
Judge Cara Connors said the event is intended to give people a chance to take care of obligations without the fear of being arrested. They said they have seen strong emotional reactions from participants, including tears and “Hallelujah praise dancing,” as people get help resolving issues that may have been holding them back…
